Biography

Dr. Kent Dickson has been treating patients in the North Texas community since 1998. Growing up in Colorado, he graduated from Cherry Creek High School outside Denver. He went on to the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated high honors with a Zoology degree. He was an academic and athletic All-American swimmer in his four years with a successful career highlighted by a National Championship in 1988. Returning to his hometown of Denver, he completed medical school at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. He chose to return to Texas for his orthopedic residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.

With a special interest in upper extremity surgery, he completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1998. This is where he refined and mastered minimally invasive techniques for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. He excels at arthroscopic approaches to the upper extremity. He successfully treats high school, collegiate and professional athletes, world record holders and even weekend warriors. Each patient is seen with an emphasis on returning to normal activities pain free and with as little down time as possible.

He currently lives in Flower Mound with his wife of over 30 years and their 3 children. He enjoys watching his children’s sporting events along with outdoor activities, traveling and running. Dr. Dickson is a Board Certified Fellow of the Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification in hand surgery and member of the American Association of Hand Surgeons. Thus, providing patients with comprehensive care utilizing a fully integrated approach to accurate diagnosis, options of conservative care, and in house advanced surgical procedures along with rehabilitation all in one location.
