Dr. Heerwagen Letter to Patients

Dr. Heerwagen Retirement

Dear Patients and Colleagues,

After 35 wonderful years of serving the orthopedic needs of Flower Mound and the surrounding communities of Denton County, I am writing to share the news of my upcoming retirement, effective April 1, 2025.

It has been an incredible privilege to care for you and your families, and I deeply appreciate the trust you have placed in me over the years. I have always strived to provide the highest standard of care, whether through surgical or non-surgical treatments, and I hope to have made a lasting, positive impact on your lives.

As I transition into retirement, I am confident that you will continue to receive exceptional care from the outstanding team at Orthopedic Associates. Each of these surgeons bring unique expertise in all orthopedic subspecialties including hand, foot and ankle, spine, sports medicine, shoulder, and trauma. Dr. David Neal, a fellowship trained hip and knee replacement specialist, will be available for my former patients. Dr. Aaron Schrayer, Dr. Ian Wilkofsky and Dr. Manuj Singhal are also excellent options for knee replacements.

You do not need to transfer records, as we use the same electronic health record system for continuity of care. If you wish to seek care outside of our practice, you may contact our medical records department for assistance.

Again, thank you to all my patients and staff for a satisfying and rewarding 35 years in practice as your orthopedic surgeon. I will truly miss all the connections I have made over the years with patients and providers within the DFW area.

Sincerely,

James Heerwagen, MD
