Today we’d like to highlight the skills and expertise of one of our team members: Dr. Ian G. Wilkofsky, M.D. Dr. Wilkofsky specializes in knee and shoulder treatments, offering diagnostics and treatment to help patients enjoy their best life.
Dr. Wilkofsky’s Orthopedic Education and Training

After completing four years of general education at Williams College, Dr. Wilkofsky pursued a Master’s in Medical Science at Boston University. He then attended the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, then moved to SUNY-Upstate to complete an orthopedic surgery residency.
Dr. Wilkofsky continued this specialized training by completing a Shoulder and Elbow fellowship in Dallas, TX, trained by Dr. Buzz Burkhead and Sr. Sumant Krishnan.
In 2017, Dr. Wilkofsky was granted board certification through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Over the years, he has earned many awards and honors from:

Dr. Wilkofsky has been part of the Orthopedic Associates team since 2015. He’s proud to offer team physician services for Lake Dallas High School.
Dr. Wilkofsky: Knee and Shoulder Specialist
Most of Dr. Wilkofsky’s specialized training focused on upper extremity conditions. Then his specialty expanded during his Orthopedic Surgery residency, where he worked on a variety of traumatic injuries in all orthopedic fields.
During the last year of his residency, Dr. Wilkofsky was named chief resident at the VA. As a result, he had the opportunity to perform total hip and knee replacements on injured veterans.
Now, Dr. Wilkofsky spends his time focusing on shoulder and knee conditions. While he has experience with other types of orthopedic care, his highly specialized skills are most often used for patients with problems affecting these areas of the body.
