Treatments Available from Dr. Giesler
Dr. Giesler specializes in disorders affecting the spine, including injuries and chronic conditions. Patients appreciate his conservative treatment approach, with both non-operative and surgical methods as needed.
Available spinal treatment options include:
- Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
- Laminectomy
- Discectomy
- Fusion
- Disc Replacement
- Deformity Correction
- Kyphoplasty
- Spinal Cord Stimulation
First, Dr. Giesler supports each patient through an in-depth diagnostic process, including digital imaging, to get a closer look at what might be affecting pain and symptoms. Once he has an understanding of the condition, then it’s time to design a customized treatment plan for each patient.
The preferred treatment approach is to start with the least invasive methods, then move onto other more in-depth treatments as needed. For example, it’s rare to suggest surgery immediately unless all other treatment options are already exhausted without success.
Neck and Back Pain Solutions
Neck pain occurs between the bottom of your head to the top of your shoulders. Back pain can occur anywhere else on the spine, from the shoulders down to the pelvic area. Dr. Giesler can help with any area of the spine where you are experiencing pain or discomfort.
Sometimes, these issues are caused by an unexpected accident or injury. For example, it’s common for patients to talk to a neck and back specialist after a car accident. Whiplash or sports injuries can cause the neck to jerk quickly, causing small tears in the tendons and muscles throughout the neck.
Orthopedic treatments focus on more than pain relief. Dr. Giesler and the other doctors at the clinic also strive to restore range of motion and functionality. The goal is to help you feel as good as possible, which is why they work with patients on an ongoing basis – until each person is feeling better again.

When to Visit a Spinal Specialist
Don’t wait until the pain is unbearable before you talk to a spinal specialist. Minor pains and functional issues could be signs of an underlying problem. It’s easier to restore function and health when a patient is working with an orthopedic doctor in the earliest stages.
There’s no question that you need to call an orthopedic provider when an injury affects the spinal area. Also, consider calling if you have chronic issues or pain that is slowly increasing over time.
Back and neck problems can disrupt every aspect of your life, making it hard to keep up with daily responsibilities. Our doctors work hard to help you recover quickly and effectively.

Restoring Your Health and Wellness
At Orthopedic Associates, our overall goal is to identify the root problem, helping you recover and return to normal life activities as quickly as possible. Never assume that your spine injury will go away naturally. Instead, it’s essential to talk to a specialist to rule out serious issues, such as herniated discs or damaged vertebrae.
Scheduling a consultation with a back and spine doctor, such as Dr. Giesler, is the first step on your road to recovery. There are often opportunities to address the pain and restore function without surgery. Other times, surgical treatments are definitely the answer to an effective treatment plan.
