Arthroscopic Procedure

While no procedure is set in stone, a typical path to arthoroscopic surgery begins with an X-ray or MRI to obtain a diagnosis. Then, during the procedure two or three small incisions are made for the camera, or arthroscope, and the specialized surgical instruments.

Benefits of Arthroscopic Surgery

The minimally invasive nature of arthroscopy offers many benefits to the patient over traditional surgery:

  • No cutting of muscles or tendons
  • Less bleeding during surgery
  • Less scarring
  • Faster recovery and rehabilitation
