Biography
Dr. Ian G. Wilkofsky, MD joined Orthopedic Associates in 2015. A native Dallasite who graduated from Greenhill High School in 1998 before going to Williams College where he played 4 years as a defensive end for the football team. He went on to obtain his masters degree from Boston University in medical sciences and then off to medical school in Omaha, Nebraska at the Creighton University School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at SUNY-Upstate in Syracuse, NY. He was fortunate enough to return to Dallas for his Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Sumant Krishnan and Dr. Buzz Burkhead.
Dr. Wilkofsky takes great interest in the orthopedic care of the shoulder. Dr. Wilkofsky’s specialized training consisted mostly of upper extremity problems, however throughout his Orthopedic Surgery residency he was involved in the care of traumatic injuries across all fields of orthopedics. His last year of residency he served as chief resident at the VA where he performed total knee and hip replacements on injured veterans. Dr. Wilkofsky has published several scientific papers at various stages of his career. Dr. Wilkofsky is excited to return home to the DFW area and looks forward to taking care of his fellow Texans. Dr. Wilkofsky has been married to wife Julie since 2007 and they have 3 well-travelled children, Jordyn, Molly and Benjamin. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, rooting for the Mavs and spending time with his family.

Dr. Ian Wilkofsky is an outstanding doctor who truly cares about his patients. He is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the United States and the state of Texas. Dr. Wilkofsky was very conservative with the treatment of my left knee. He first tried shots and then completed meniscus repair surgery before jumping in and doing a total knee replacement. I was so happy that he took this approach with fixing my left knee. I strongly recommend Dr. Wilkofsky for any orthopedic surgery, but especially knee replacement.

Dr. Wilkofsky brought life back to my knee yesterday and both shoulders today with injections! As much as I’d like to do a cartwheel to celebrate, at 70, I’m smarter than that! However, in 2 weeks, I will be riding my mule in East Texas with friends to celebrate! Thanks to y’all for helping all of us!

I injured my knee in a fall and needed to see an orthopedic specialist quickly. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours with Dr. Wilkofsky and was extremely pleased with my experience at Orthopedic Associates. The staff is very professional. They have sufficient front desk staff to get you checked in immediately upon arrival. I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen by the doctor. I’ve had two visits now and both were quick. I have been extremely pleased – highly recommend.
