Hand, Wrist, Shoulder, and Elbow Treatments
Just because Dr. Dickson is a surgeon doesn’t mean that every treatment plan is focused on surgical procedures. The team at Orthopedic associates offers a range of solutions, with the priority placed on the most conservative treatment possible. First, we start with an in-depth diagnosis, then evaluate both non-operative and surgical methods to meet each person’s needs.
Hand Treatments
The hands are one of the most critical parts of the body that affect daily function in many ways. Whether you are throwing a football or typing at a computer all day, it’s vital that you have the ability for precision movements and fine motor skills. The utmost care is required to ensure optimal results for each hand and wrist injury. Dr. Dickson and other specialists at Orthopedic Associates can help with a variety of conditions affecting the hands and wrists. Available treatments include
- Finger joint replacement
- Carpal tunnel release
- Digital nerve repair
- Finger joint fusion
- Tendon repair
- Trigger digit release
- Joint synovectomy
- Ganglion cyst removal
Elbow Treatments
As we move up the arm, the elbow is the next joint that affects everything from your golf game to a handshake at a business conference. Most problems affecting the elbow are related to insufficient recovery, leading to overuse injuries.
Dr. Dickson and our team at Orthopedic Associates provide a range of treatment options for these conditions. Available elbow treatments include:
- Cold laser therapy
- Medial epicondylectomy
- Cubital tunnel release
- Arthroscopic debridement of the elbow
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
- Radial tunnel release
Shoulder Treatments
The function and strength of the shoulder are critical to support movement in the hands and elbows. Even though shoulders have an impressive range of motion, these movements make the shoulder one of the most vulnerable joints in the body.
A variety of procedures are available for patients needing shoulder treatment, including:
- Cold laser therapy
- Joint injections
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
- Rotator cuff repair
- Shoulder impingement surgery
- Suprascapular nerve block
- Shoulder replacement
The above treatments for shoulder, wrist, elbow, and hand conditions are just a brief overview of the services available from Dr. Dickson.
Our team at Orthopedic Associates takes each patient through an in-depth evaluation process, using physical exams and digital imaging to understand the full condition. Then, we can create a custom treatment plan to suit the unique needs of each patient.
Personalized Care to Reduce Your Pain
We stay by your side through all stages of the treatment process, helping to optimize your results and minimize your pain. Our approach starts with the least invasive methods first before moving on to more in-depth treatments as needed.
While pain relief is an essential focus of this treatment approach, we also prioritize function and strength to ensure mobility and performance. Athletes often benefit by working with an orthopedic surgeon to improve their abilities on the field.
Additionally, these personalized services are available when you need them the most: if an unexpected injury or accident occurs. Suppose you’ve recently experienced an injury on the sports field or after an accident. In that case, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Dickson or one of our other specialists.
